- PA Archives list Henry Kipp as private in a company of militia commanded by Captain Henry Good and they performed a tour of duty under order of the Governor date 26th Aug. 1814 in York County, PA. Later article in the Decatur Republican of Decatur, IL dated 21st March 1872 stated that John Hanouff lost his contract for keeping Henry Kipp because he had a pension from the government for services in the War of 1812.
